Novice Shamrocks Battle the Irish
The Southwest Novice Shamrock Bullets sponsored by the Glencoe Lions Club took on the Lucan Irish this past Sunday afternoon at the Glencoe Arena.
Although they couldn’t find their own four leaf clover, the team did put in a great effort despite the loss. With Lucan being one of the top teams in the league the Bullets had their work cut out for them and hard work is what kept the game close for more than two periods of play. Brad McAlpine managed to cut through the tight Irish defence to net a pair of goals and get the Bullets on the scoreboard. Assists on his goals went to Noble Stonefish, Morgan Hutson and Wyatt Johnson. Devon Graham played well between the pipes deflecting numerous Irish shots into the corner but in the end Lucan had luck on their side pulling the game off with a 9-2 win. "Mr. Big" winners were Devin Graham for his strong goaltending and positioning and Evan DeMaiter for his aggressive defensive work.
The Bullets look forward to competing in OMHA later this month against West Lorne, Ridgetown and Thamesford in round one, as well as the “Under the Lock” tournament in early February.
