Novice Shamrock Advance to OMHA Semi Finals
The Southwest Novice Bullets sponsored by the Glencoe Lions Club were up against two must win games in order to advance to the next round of OMHA this past weekend.

Saturday afternoon had the Bullets battling the West Lorne Comets on their home ice. The Bullets came out guns a blazing in the first period with Brad McAlpine going on an end to end rush tucking one past the Comet goaltender to get the Bullets on the score board first. That goal was followed less than a minute later with Jordan McIntyre driving hard to the net and slamming a rebound into the twine to take a 2-0 lead. Shortly after, McAlpine got his second of the game by taking a nice feed from playmakers Wyatt Johnson and Kelvin “The Rocket” Huston. The first period ended in favour of the Bullets by a score of 3-1. The second period began with Johnson tipping one in off a blast from Morgan Hutson, followed by another Bullet goal by Jaxon Aubertin driving one home on a pass by Johnson. The Bullets ended the second period leading 5-2 and this time they didn’t let up in the third keeping the pressure on the fading Comets. The hot hand of “The Rocket” Huston blazed through the Comet defence scoring one upstairs with an assist going to William Lambrecht. Just to make sure the Comets were all burnt up McAlpine added two more to give the Bullets an 8-4 win. Mr. Big bars went to Jordan McIntyre and Wyatt Johnson for their extra effort in the game.
Sunday afternoon had the team back on home ice in Glencoe to take on the Thamesford Attack. The Bullets led the attack from start to finish however, polishing them off by a 7-3 score and giving them the entry into the semi-finals. Mr. Big bar winners for great play against Thamesford were Devin Graham and Morgan Hutson.
The Bullets will now play league leader Ridgetown Rebels in the semi-finals over the coming week.
