The Southwest Bullets Atom travel team sponsored by Gary
Graham Transport battled hard in two games this week both resulting in ties.
The Atom Bullets hosted the Wallaceburg Lakers on Thursday night in Bothwell skating to a 3-3 tie. John Van Bilsen notched a hat trick scoring 3 goals with assists going to Kelvin Huston (2) and William Lambrecht. Special effort by Wyatt Johnson & Matt Close was noted by the coaches when the Bullets ran into penalty trouble in the third period.
The Bullets then wheeled into West Lorne on Sunday afternoon to take on the Comets. The Comets came out blazing looking for their first win of the year and got on the scoreboard first. The Bullets fired back with two backhanded goals by Kelvin Huston. Nice passing assist on those goals went to Jaxon Aubertin, Colton Campbell & Evan Sawyer. Not giving up were the Comets who responded with their own two goals to take a 3-2 lead late into the 3rd period but with one minute left in the game Van Bilsen squirted one by the Comet goalie to get the tie. Goaltender Tristan Hauspie played excellent both games to help the team manage the ties.
The next game for the Bullets will be Thursday November 20th in Bothwell to take on the Lucan Irish.
