Good to see everyone at the rink again, hope the pre-season skate gave everyone the opportunity to get their skates under-them, have some fun and get a workout. Sounded like it was the first skate in a while for everyone.
We were missing a few bodies and have some there trying out elsewhere - good luck and if circumstances find you back for the year - we'd be happy to see you.
I passed out a checklist which also appears on the right side of the page under documents.....and asked that everyone take a minute and go through it, marking a 1 or 2 strengths (check-mark) and one or two areas to improve (X-s). This will give the staff a chance to plan practices appropriately. Don't over-think it, just go through it quickly and trust your first instinct. Please try to fill it in and message it to me, text a photo of it to me 519-671-8282. Put you name on it please.
Staff - you met Garrett and Heather last night, please give us 5 minutes before we hit the ice and 5 minutes after each skate to have team talks. I expect to be delegating a-lot between the staff, proper respect is expected for all bench staff and helpers. We are all giving our time to build you up as players and young people. Your commitment to the team is appreciated, and expected.
Anyways - I prefer players communicate direct (rather than having parents in the middle). Parents should be in the loop, but players are responsible for knowing their schedules and team business.
