AGE GROUP BREAKDOWN FOR IP,Tyke & Novice teams
Submitted By Mark Ramsay on Fri 09 08, 17
For those of you who are still confused on where their child will land this year with the new age groups which 'Hockey Canada' has passed down. Please read the following;

TECHNICALLY these are the new ages for each team.
2009 = Novice
2010 = Tyke
2011,2012,2013 = IP (Beginner)

This year it is allowed that;

2009 = Novice

2010 = Novice (If they make the rep team)

2010 = Rostered (on paper) to the tyke team. AP'd to novice LL team. They can play both Tyke and Novice, OR just Novice.(Parents Choice).

2011 = Rostered (on paper) to the beginner program. AP'd to Tyke. Can play both Beginner and Tyke, OR just Tyke.(Parents Choice).

2012 = Rostered to Beginner program, IF room on Tyke team AND their skill permits, can be AP'd to Tyke, otherwise beginner.

2013 and younger = beginner.

There are special circumstances, which will be looked at one on one by the board if required. We ask for your patience as we work through Hockey Canada's new guidelines.
