Season Underway...plans coming together
HI everyone read below for tournament update, season update etc....

Hi everyone - so the season has begun to roll along and Jack and I are thrilled with the positive energy and eagerness of the players.  We have a great mix of kids and experience and look forward to getting all the kids experience.

A couple of notes - player numbers are set - we will work on getting the roster online soon, I will be keeping track of stats for the players, and while I don't dwell on them - it is interesting for the kids to strive to get points during games.  (In my books an assist is more important than a goal, it means you made a smart play and every assist means there was a goal scored!)  It should be noted that NHL MVPs are usually leading scorers and always have more assists than goals.

Tournaments - We got our checks from SWBMH and our manager Kevin P will be sending them off to Strathroy and Seaforth this week.  Also I handed the one back to Bob T for our own Glencoe tournament.  So we will need (as a team) collect funds to cover those checks. (we pay back SWBMH).  Basically checks made out to SWBMH once we have them all we will submit them. I am researching hotels/motels around Seaforth - my only criteria is that it has a pool.  Seaforth look exactly 1/2 between Godrich and Stratford.

50-50 so thanks to Tim H for doing the 50-50 Wednesday - remember this money goes directly back to pay four our tournaments - so encourage friends and family to take part in the 50-50.  I will continue to seek helpers to run the 50-50 at home games.  I noticed we had a nice musical introduction for the players at our first home game - thanks Tim H!!  The plan is to collect 50-50 and see where we are at X-mas hopefully we can look at entering another tournament if we have collected enough.

Finally - this Saturday we have a practice directly after our game - as the Bantams are away.  With this extra ice we will be working on systems, and set plays so it is important for the players to stick around and be there - so plan on a long afternoon at the rink.  Also I am trying to source practice jerseys for the kids so we can separate D and forwards and lines by colours, it makes for an better practice.
