1) This is an OMHA sanctioned tournament. All teams must be registered with the OMHA or its affiliates.

2) All OMHA Rules and Regulations apply to tournament games.

3) All referee’s decisions are final, and not up for debate.

4) Any major penalties are subject to OMHA suspensions, as found in the OMHA rule book.

5) Any “fighting major” or “head check major” will mean automatic suspension from the remainder of the tournament.  

6) Registration is 45 minutes prior to your first game, and approved rosters are needed for entry in the tournament. 

7) All teams must be ready to play 15 minutes before the scheduled game time. There will be a 2 minute warm-up period before each game time. 

8) Team officials must sign game sheets. Game sheets must be completed and taken to the tournament official 10 minutes before game time. 

9) All teams are guaranteed 3 games. 

10) All games will be 10-10-10 stop time periods. The clock will run after the first period if the goal differential of the game is 6 or more. The clock will go back to stop time if the differential becomes less than 6 at any point in the game. All minor penalties will be 3:00 minutes in length during run time. 

11) There will be no overtime in round robin games. Overtime will be played in the finals only. 

12) The scoring of each of the round robin games will be using a 13 point system. 

-2 points per period, 1 point per team if the period is tied. 

-4 points for a win, 2 points per team if the game is tied. 

-1 point for a game shutout.

-2 points for the team with the least penalty minutes,  1 point per team if tied.  

-Point ties in standings will be decided by the following scale: 

-Most wins 

-Head to head record 

-Least penalties  

-Coin flip   

13) In the event of tie at the end of the third period in the finals, overtime will be as follows: 

-5 minutes of sudden death overtime. 

-If teams are still tied it then goes to 5 minutes of 3 on 3 sudden death overtime. 

    -In the event of a penalty during 3 on 3 overtime play, the offending player will serve the     penalty, the non-offending team will put an extra player on the ice. (4 on 3)         

-Once the penalty time has been served the offending player will return to the ice and continue 4 on 4 until the first stoppage of play. 

-At that time the game will return to 3 on 3 format.

-If the game remains tied there will be a 3 player per team shootout. If the game is still tied after the shootout, the shootout continues with the first player on the game sheet from each team that has not taken a shot. This continues 1-1 until one of the teams comes out ahead. 

14) Coaches are required to make every effort to ensure EQUAL ICE TIME for all participants and there is to be no shortening of the bench.

-Any bench personnel having been ejected from a game, for any reason, will be automatically suspended for a minimum of one (1) game and subject to further review for possible expulsion from the tournament by tournament officials. INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR, CONDUCT OR LANGUAGE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!

The tournament committee reserves the right to make all decisions regarding the interpretation of the rules and regulations and all decisions are final.  No appeals are allowed.  We will not under any circumstances speak to anyone other than the Manager or Head Coach if there is a dispute. Please communicate this rule with other members of the coaching staff and team parents as abuse of this rule may result in your team’s expulsion from the tournament.
