Southwest Novice Shamrock OMHA Action
The Novice Shamrock Bullets sponsored by the Glencoe Lions Club played two close and exciting OMHA games this weekend.

Game one was loaded with lots of end to end action against the Thamesford Attack in their barn. Thamesford got off to the early lead but team Southwest battled back to stay within range. The Southwest defence had their hands full with the Attack forwards who were buzzing net-minder Devin Graham all game. Fortunately, Southwest managed to keep things within reach as their ace of spades forward Brad McAlpine had his gun loaded, firing off 6 goals of his own, the last of which tied the game with a 1:27 left. Assists on some of his goals went to Will Lambrecht, Jordan McIntyre, Kelvin Huston and Noble Stonefish. Final score was a 6-6 tie with a Mr.Big bar going to McAlpine, deservingly so!
Game two had the Bullets travel down the road to play the West Lorne Comets. Both teams played this one much tighter defensively. The Comets got on the board first but McAlpine evened it up quickly to knot the game at 1-1 after two periods. An assist on McAlpine’s goal went to Nobel Stonefish. The Bullets hovered around the Comets net for much of the game, but could not beat the Comet goalie who stood tall and shut down the Bullets firepower. Final score was 2-1 for the Comets and a Mr. Big bar went to goaltender Devin Graham.
The Bullets have three round robin OMHA games remaining to decide if they move on to the next round. The games will be played against Ridgetown, West Lorne and Thamesford.
