Submitted By rmcalpine on Monday, February 25, 2013
The Southwest Novice Bullets sponsored by the Glencoe Lions Club were up against two must win games in order to stay qualified to advance to the next round of OMHA this past weekend.

Coming off a recent tournament win the Bullets had the confidence they needed to take matters into their own hands in playing a great game to down the Thamesford Attack 5-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Sunday afternoon had the Bullets battling the West Lorne Comets on home ice in Glencoe. The Comets were first to get on the scoreboard but Southwest’s Jaxon “Digger” Aubertin got the bullets even by scoring on a nice pass from Jackson Caron, ending the first period tied. In the second period speedsters Brad Mcalpine and John Van Bilsen each scored a goal by going wide around the Comet defence and firing them past the Comet goalie. Assists on their goals went to Kelvin Huston(2) and Will Lambrecht. Before the second period ended McAlpine buried another on a feed by Aubertin to give the Bullets a commanding 4-1 lead after two. The third saw the Bullets play a tight defensive game holding the Comets to only one more goal while Aubertin scored his second goal of the game assisted by Jordan McIntyre and McAlpine to give Southwest a 5-2 win. Mr. Big Bars for hard work during the two games went to Kelvin Huston, Will Lambrecht, Devin Graham, Jackson Caron and John Van Bilsen.
The Bullets have two games remaining one against Thamesford and West Lorne . The must win game is against West Lorne who are one point ahead of the Bullets in round robin play. West Lorne or the Bullets will advance to play Ridgetown who are undefeated in the round robin play. Semi finals will begin the following week. Go Bullets!
