Southwest Novice Shamrock Action
The Southwest Bullets Novice Shamrock team sponsored by the Glencoe Lions Club hosted the Petrolia Oilers this past Sunday afternoon at Glencoe Arena.
Both teams came out skating hard in the first period giving the fans lots to cheer about with end to end action. Petrolia got on the scoreboard first with a couple of goals but the Bullets came firing back when Brad McAlpine found Kelvin Huston in front of the net with his stick on the ice. Huston buried it on a nice wrist shot to get the team on the board. Hard working Jaxon Aubertin did the same a few minutes later on the Oiler goalie with assists on his goal going to Jordan McIntyre and McAlpine. Despite some heroic saves by call up Tristan Hawspie in net, the Oilers managed to end the first period leading by a score of 4-2.
Unfortunately for the Bullets it was all Oilers in the second and third periods as they managed to slip their way through the Bullets defence ending the game at an 11-2 score. The Bullets will practice Wednesday night in preparation for their game against rival East Lambton Eagles on December 16th.
